Mr. Fox brought his significant other last night for a nosh.

See the stalks by the fox on the left? Husband found some wild asparagus in the field and thought the woodchucks would eat it. Sadly, they prefer my flowers and didn’t touch it.

We love our foxes.
.

.
They’re such graceful, beautiful creatures.

.
If only they’d develop a taste for red squirrel.
.

.
Surely they have hungry pups who need a snack.

My brother and I would do odd jobs for this eighty year old farmer for a dollar a day. He just wanted the company. We mostly dug up trees and cut them down below the ground level. He had a thirty year old horse, a cow-sized free range hog and, sometimes, he could call a fox that hung around his home. Such a weird mix of cat and dog in those guys.

My SIL can feed one by hand… but I never want to tame them. Sadly they need a healthy fear of humans.

The old man said he could feed the fox by hand ONCE IN A WHILE. It came within six feet of us and then thought better of it and took off…

Which is probably why he lived to tell the tale.

Ms Red knows better than to come out when foxes are present. Her survival instincts are very strong!

Maybe the foxy couple are scoping out the place for Red. You never know.

Foxes are fascinating, but I want to experience them from afar no close up. Great photos

I’m amazed these come as close to the house as they do. They’re very wary creatures….

We’ve heard rumors of a neighborhood fox but have yet to spot him/her. Fingers crossed!

They are lovely and perhaps some babies will be visiting you real soon, too!

We only see the young once in a rare while. It’s a wide open space from the woods to our feeders and momma fox doesn’t like to take the chance.
