.
This isn’t a large historic site by any means.
.

.
But here’s a peak at the inside of the building.
.

.
The store.
.

.
Our guide, in the kitchen.
.

.
And no, that isn’t poop. It’s rolled tobacco.
.

.
Since our guide was rather long winded we ran out of time before we were able to explore upstairs …
.

.
And they were literally locking the gates while we were still roaming around.
.

.
Stockades.
I’m thinking of installing a set in our backyard… to be employed when the husband gets the urge to attend a rummage sale.
.

.
The fort.
The end.
Anticlimactic, I know. But I didn’t want to spend the night there so we had to beat feet and leave.
.
I like the idea of stockades in the yard.
Also, that totally looked like poop.

I know! It really did…
And backyard stockades could come in handy for so many reasons.

I would not like having a stockade in the yard. The squirrels would be making fun of me. I’d like to tour this place at some point.

It’s quite small and to be honest not worth making a special trip for. We have bigger and better forts… but if you’re already in the area, sure.

Oh sites like this would call to my mother the history teacher! I’ve seen many, not stayed at any though.

I assume that that rolled tobacco is for chewing, but in my view, the difference between chewed tobacco and pooed tobacco is only a matter of taste. 😀

As much as I hate to sit next to a smoker, sitting next to a spitter isn’t any better….

Long-winded tour guides are great for their passion and wealth of knowledge…except when you’re on a tight schedule.

This guy was knowledgeable but used 50 words when 5 would do.

Haha. That’s the worst kind of knowledgeable.

I’m not sure society’s abandonment of the stockades was a good thing. Sometimes a the threat of public shame and humiliation can stop someone from making a poor decision, rendering jail unnecessary. We should at least bring a few back and see, no?

And it’s an evening’s free entertainment. BYOT.
Bring your own tomato.
