.
The day we’d been waiting for finally arrived .
A temporary mailbox had been installed…
.

.
The blockade was removed….
.

.
And paving commenced.
.

.
The crew pulled in at 7:30am with the big machine but a lot had to happen before they fired up that baby.
.

.
Spray painting for instance.
But when the dump truck with the hot tar arrived, things really kicked into high gear.
.
.
The bump out parking area was the first spot to be paved.
.

.
And I have to say … those laborers I photographed sitting down playing with their phones really earned their pay this day.
.

.
Time is of the essence when the tar is hot and they were positively trotting while dumping wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow full of the heavy stuff into place.
.

.
It’s a whole lotta work.
.

.
In front of the garage by the kitchen porch was next.
.

.
And I’m sure the crew thought the lady who lives here was nuts for running from window to window to take pictures of the progress.
.

.
A little portable packing and smoothing later, that section was done.
.
And the smell must have been hellacious!

It actually wasn’t… which was quite surprising. Although I was inside with the a/c running so what do I know?

My first ex husband was a foreman. Watched this for 14 years. STILL fascinates me. You will love that new hot stuff but remember, it’s mixed with oil so when rain is sitting on it? It’s SLICKERY!!

With a trash can as a post, you must be anticipating a lot of junk mail.

That joke was pure rubbish.

Wow, that is some expenditure. Pics are a good idea but you will need a new project when this is finished.

I have a long list….

You sound like me. I am glad my husband tends to be handy with do it yourself projects except when he gets me involved.

My husband can do a lot, but he’s more of a rough outdoor carpenter. Framing, roofing, siding… fine. But if there’s finish work I usually hire out.

I don’t take pics but I might write about it from time to time. This year, we replaced the living room floor after a plastic pipe burst in the washer and dryer room. We hired out but the husband in the past put in the floor. He also redid the closet for kitchen, shelves, paint, etc.

You’re lucky. I’d never let mine do a floor…

I’m sure those guys have seen a lot worse from the women inside. Plus, they were probably so busy they didn’t even notice.

Mostly what I noticed in your pictures was the absence of the Marine. I guess he knows when it is time to leave the workers to their jobs…OR…..the odor was overwhelming.

Or… he went out for a 5 hour breakfast with a couple of work friends and it was done before he got back.
🤣

That was listed as my 24th guess.

If he’s awake? He’s talking to someone….
