Oh, to be as limber as a cat.

.

My creaky knee, my bunions and my menopausal joint pain ridden body isn’t as limber as it once was and though I’m still active enough not to embarrass myself… I often look upon His Lordship with envy.

If I slept with my spine twisted like that I might never get up again.

They’re bendable creatures.

    1. That cat would probably have been a Rag Doll. A (fairly recent) new breed from the 70s in Califotnia. My Diabola is a Rag Doll. I had never even heard of a Rag Doll before I met Diabola, and I thought I did something wrong the first time I picked her up. But, no, it’s something in the genes. And its a sign of total trust. Funny thing, none of her kittens were Rag Dolls. It is a recessant gene, and needs to be in both chromosones in order to actuate.

      1. All my cats did that LOL Mostly when they wanted to get down and didn’t appreciate being held. Actually in 50 years of living with cats only one would just squirm instead of going boneless…

      2. Hmmm. I know other cats that did that to get away from being held, but Diabola wants to be held. She just seems to have no hard bones in her body once she is in the air.

  1. Did I tell you, Rg, Gail is (hopefully) going for her knee replacement surgery in October. We go for her pre-op appt on the 19th of this month. They have not set a dste yet becsuse we have a shortage of anaestheologists, but we’re getting there at last. The only concern isvthat her ligaments and tendons may have to be repaired after being out of shape for two years. My gingers are ctossed it will all go okay. She has put up with so much pain for far too long…

    1. I know that’s probably in my future but I’m not looking forward to it. Honestly? I’m holding out for the custom fit replacement knee. There aren’t any doctors in Maine doing it yet…
Hope all goes well for Gail. I feel her pain, literally and figuratively.
