Since we’re in the middle of renovations, Christmas decorations in the house are minimal this year. I can’t wrangle a firm date from our contractor on the flooring replacement so we don’t even have a tree. I refuse to put one up only to take it down days later.
But…
The man cave/Barn Mahal is wide open.

.
So I had some fun out there.
Mini trees with white lights..
.

.
A pinecone reindeer.
.

.
And a few festive placemats on the bar.
.

.
Some baubles in front of the kegerator.
.

.
The occasional Santa and stars…
.

.
And a few bundled up winter birds.
.

.
Make the husband’s lair feel festive.

That looks well cool! 🙂

You definitely put some Christmas cheer in the man cave, it looks a lot more festive!

That man cave looks fabulous (said no man, ever). But it really does! Very festive. Well done!

Be a Santa Claus, not a Scrooge or a a Grinch!
Give Lord Dudley a cat cave and you’ll be a cinch!

We bring him out there, but he gets skittish and doesn’t seem to like it…

It’s hard…

Those little birds are a treat! Now a picture at night with the warm glow from the windows would be lovely. You could put the big tree in there? I don’t know why, but I’ve always thought there’s something a little magical about driving past at night and seeing Christmas trees glowing in people’s homes. You’re a good home maker.

I thought about putting a big tree in the barn… but we’re only in there once a week or so.

Even more reason to spend time in there (not that I would need additional nudging).

His Lordship is a very well behaved cat in that respect. Never bothers our tree..

This is our first year putting out the tree and decorations (you may recall that we spent Christmas in Death Valley last year in part because we were worried about mixing cats and Christmas). This year we’re at home, though, and the cats have been wonderful around almost everything. Some fake red berries have needed to be sprayed with perfume, but that’s it. The cats like to just sit under the tree, and last weekend Cheddar could be seen running around the house batting a bow he managed to free from one of the presents, but that just made me laugh.

That’s good news. Most of our cats have been happy to just sleep under the tree and bat an ornament or two… but we had a climber once as well. That was not good!
