We’re poisoning our oceans.
With chemicals and plastics and oil spills… and though the waters off the coast of Maine are cleaner than most, I’m afraid even they’re showing signs of the pollution.
I live in Maine and have lobsterman friends. They often post pictures of the weird and wonderful blue and orange lobsters they haul up in their traps. The colors are rare but occur naturally as a mutation of genes.
But lately?
The pictures have taken a darker turn.

Mutations are being found.

And this doesn’t bode well for our oceans.

This last one is not only disturbing , but downright creepy.

I think we’ve long passed the point of saving ourselves from ourselves.

That first three month Covid shutdown proved we haven’t, but our unwillingness to change and preserve our planets resources certainly has.

If a lobster and shark mated, that’s exactly what their offspring would look like.

I was thinking more Alien and Sigourney Weaver, but sure. Lobster Jaws works too…

These are just the one that were caught. Imagine what else could be down there, and reproducuing. This is how new species get started.

Wow, I mean someone already mentioned that Godzilla got started that way. We should be scared, very scared.

What we’re doing to the planet causes me more existential angst than anything else. I hate it.

*sigh* It is so sad. There are too many of us not taking care of things as we should, and the future will pay the price.
