.
Both of our new doors have been installed. Rotted wood and sub floor sections have been replaced and our contractor made double and triple sure they’re sealed up tight against the weather and rain proof.

Hallelujah.

Bedroom and living room door, respectively.
.

.
It took an awfully long time, but I’m pleased.
.

.
But as the title says, while it’s done…
.

.
It’s not exactly finished.
Since the new flooring is next on the renovation list, there didn’t seem to be any reason to put the interior trim back on only to take it off again…. so for now I get to live with a rough insulation filled border.
There are worse things.
I can deal.
.

.
And I’m loving the built in blind.
Progress is a beautiful thing.
👍

As I was reading along I wondered whether the blind was built in…what does your cat think about that? Built in – no fun.

He hasn’t tried to battle it yet, but that should be an interesting tussle.

That’s got to feel really good! Glad you’re keeping the long-term goal in mind. It helps in the short-term; though time can be such a relative thing. Either way, so worth it in the end!

Time isn’t so relative when you’re paying a contractor by the hour… but I take your point.

Glad to see that you love blind(er)s built in….
Politicians do too — I hear it’s why they ‘spin.’

You know, by the time you get around to completing the last of these renovations, it’ll be time to renovate the first of these renovations again.

That sounds about right…

Oh, I love built-in shutters, but not enough to pay for them.
My exposed interior frame doesn’t even have insulation. And there’s a 1″ gap between the wall and floor… just to make sure my house stays cold.
You’re doing FAR better than me!!

I hate to admit it, but that does makes me feel better.

Oh both those doors are beauties, I’d kill for one with the blinds in the window. But the price is too rich for my wallet.

It’s a well made door, I’m hoping it lasts longer than the (not so) old one.

Looking good. The built in blinds will last longer than ones hanging on the inside (in Dudley’s way).

His Lordship hasn’t noticed yet. I doubt he will be pleased…

Well, it’s pretty from the outside. 🙂
Progress IS progress and I suppose that will have to do for now.
