#1 – Doesn’t have a spout or spoon yet the top has cut outs…and it’s on a dining table…some kind of shaker but unless the lid has some kind of locking device shaking it could be problematical. Not knowing it’s size makes guessing difficult.
#2 – Some kind of condiment server – could be anything liquidity – jams, honey, chutney etc.
Why would #1 have holes? Release heat or aromatics? To breathe? What needs breathing for best flavour? Not wine. Not powdery things like salt or sugar due to moisture. It’s larger, so you’d use more of it. I’m thinking maybe larger clumps of something. No idea.
I would guess sugar bowl for the piece with the cobalt blue glass insert.
I don’t know about the other.
