Enough already.

.

I don’t give my cell phone number to anyone but friends because I refuse to have it flooded with spam. We still have a landline, so I give that number to businesses who require it.

But when my husband ordered the new composite decking for the porch from Lowes and they wanted a phone number? He gave them mine… and for that I will never forgive him.

.

.

He thought it was great my phone kept alerting with texts.

.

.

I did not.

.

.

Did I mention he gave them my iPhone email address too?

.

.

Three messages saying it was great to see us pick up our order.

Three… so far.

I hit stop. And unsubscribe.

I fear drones will be dropping fliers and airplanes will be circling overhead with banner scrolls shortly.

🥴

  1. At least you know it was actually Lowe’s and hitting STOP won’t link you to a page that will download malware and take over your phone and drain all of your bank accounts. Most of my Spam e-mail is not from who they claim to be.

  2. I feel your pain, and I think I offset the husband/wife balance. My wife always gives my phone for orders. It’s okay, I already get tons of crap there, I can take it. I text STOP after the order arrives, lest it go on forever.

“Hey, it was great seeing you when you picked up that order. Any project plans for Labor Day? We’re having a big sale!”

  3. Boo on husband. Boo on Lowes. Hopefully they’re done now, though. I’ve texted stop and unsubscribed to vendors and they’ve continued alerting me to sales and events. Youth soccer is the worst offender.

  4. Its a major bugbear of mine too. This morning, even, I was asked for my email address so the shop assistant could give me a receipt for the record I bought. I declined of course, but still got the receipt.

its the persistent requests for the completion of ‘How did we do’ surveys that REALLY rips my knitting! 😡

(Maybe there was question in there that asked:

‘What do you think about ‘How did we do surveys” then I might consider filling in their **@#! feedback from!

    😂

    1. There’s a company called Wayfair that floods my FB feed. I’ve tried to look at a few of their products but it won’t even let me on the site until I give them an email address. Nope. Great way to lose my business.

  5. I bought my wife an anniversary present from Lowe’s so of course I gave them my number, not hers. And I started getting flooded with notifications even before I picked the thing up. When I needed to make a change, however, I couldn’t get someone there to answer me or even pick up the phone. Funny enough the notifications stopped after I told them how awful their customer service was.
