A treasure guessing game.

.

My husband came home with a treasure the other day.

.

.

He bought it a flea market from someone who had no idea what it was.

He paid $7.

Tasking me with research, I came up with this:

.

.

And this:

.

.

They both look exactly like what he brought home.

I have doubts about it being a tea whisk. The Japanese take their tea ceremonies seriously and I think their tool would be more decorative.

Either way, it seems to be worth more than $7.

What’s your guess?

  1. I am happy for you on your acquisition of a possible tea whisk. If my husband brought such a thing home, I would not be happy for me. But hey it seems like your hubby loves the hunt. And it truly is a conversation piece.

  2. Obviously a better mousetrap. You pop it on a mouse, and get the cat. Wait 5 minutes, pop up the trsp and bet on who wins.

In my right mind I would never think of that, it sould be very cruel. But tonight I amroasted after yet another 30+ evening. I can’t control my thoughts.

  3. I think the whisk is a bit of a dodgy internet scam. It’s definitely an insert for something, so we’ll go with the 2nd. I reckon the guy who sold it said he didn’t know what it was because he knew noone would be interested in buying it. Curiosity was thus piqued in your hubby, who, let’s face it would probably buy used gum. 😉
