Half the new soffit is up and a support pole was placed.

.
Because I don’t want to be forced to paint them every few years, PVC column wraps were purchased, for a ridiculous $200 per.
Were they easy to wrap?
.

.
They were not.
Especially when the sun was mercilessly beating down.
.

.
Trying to escape the heat…

.
Cutting was done in the garage.

.
One pole wrapped but moulding not yet added, husband moved on to taping off the windows.

Progress is slow, but it’s progress.

He has this thing about wearing long sleeves so the bugs won’t bite him. It’s weird.. not to mention hot!

I’ll take bites, or Deet spray, over melting to death!

I tried those anti-mosquito coil bracelets. Mosquitoes were happily landing on them.

You and me both. I’m out there dripping wet in a tank top, shorts and flip flops. I don’t know how he stands it.

I’m watching tv, wearing only a tank top in 82F, and I’m SO DONE.

I can’t take the heat anymore.
At. All.
If it’s over 55-60 degrees? I’m hot and miserable.

I’m usually okay into the 90s and even low hundreds. But out humidity is more than 2x the norm, plus I think my internal regulator broke, so I’m even bitching & sweating at 67°!

I despise the humidity.
And my inner thermostat has been busted since the hysterectomy.

I honestly didn’t know it got that hot in Maine. I figured between your northerly location, and proximity to ocean and mountains, you’d kinda be like Minnesota. We get hot, but not THAT hot.
Also, your post title is a good reminder for me, as I got on the bathroom scale today. 🥴

It’s unusual for us to see those high temperatures, but sadly it’s happening more every year. Maine summer used to be high 70’s with 85 being hot. I miss that…

Yeah. When we were in Australia, people from Tazmania said they are seeing more and more Climate Change Migrants from Sydney because summers are getting hotter and hotter there.

No one in Maine had air conditioning when I was a teenager. The cars weren’t even sold with it up here. Now? You can’t be without it. At least I can’t.

Long sleeves don’t deter mosquitoes from me. They bite me through my clothing. What can I say? Those little bastards really love me.

Both of our neighbors have horses, so for us it’s horse flies. When they bite? It hurts!

Ouch. I don’t envy you there.
