So guess what was delivered today…

.

You knew this was coming, right?

.

.

Yes, my husband bought the horse drawn carriage/buckboard/grocery delivery van.

.

.

Whatever you want to call it, it’s old, it’s big and it’s cumbersome.

.

.

He wheeled it behind the shed…

.

.

And realizing no one would see it there…

.

.

Moved it out in front of the barn.

.

.

It’s in remarkably good shape, though the leather seat is quite cracked.

.

.

Fully functionally as it can be… without an actual horse.

.

.

And my husband gets a huge kick out of the tiny tailgate.

.

.

So, yeah.

We own an antique horse drawn vehicle now.

🥴

  1. If you can’t find him this week – check his man- cave / shed. He’ll be designing and patenting a means of attaching a Harley to the carriage.

Think of all the fun rides around the countryside you can now have. Hubby out front in his biker’s helmet, shades and cut-off denim jacket; you in your long, white, flowing cotton dress and tied bonnet, sat demurely in the carriage behind.

    (Like a Hells Angels re-write of a Jane Austen novel.😉😂 )

  2. I could offer you a good price on a thoroughbred, but the travel fees would be too high. Does Maine have a standardbred track. Your carriage — it certainly is not a buckboard! — is a bit bigger than the bike they pull on the track, but a retired trotter would be a wonderful carrisge horse to have. And it would mow your grass for free in the summer.
