.
Railing section number one was complete thanks to my brilliant painters tape idea so we moved on to number two…

The unfinished staggered stone making a nice tool shelf.

It’s really starting to look like something now.
.

.
More like a porch and less like a disaster zone.

Of course the husband wouldn’t listen to me at the beginning when I told him the height he chose was wrong. I wanted it a few inches higher, but no… he knew best.
.

.
Which means the yew bush on the far right completely blocks the first railing section from view.

Two down, two to go…

it looks very nice. Bonus points for the Stanley FatMax utility knife 😉

That’s my husband’s, so I’ll give credit where credit is due.

The fact that he listened to your tape suggestion means there is progress, lol.

Only after he was at his wits end and frustrated, but yes. I’m calling it a win.

I would love to have a talk with your hubby. Especially when it comes to things like the height of railing. He should be wanting to make you happy. I don’t understand the stubbornness.

It was the one and only time he read the instructions. They recommended that height but we could have raised it a little.

So write it on a sticky mote and put it on the fridge door. He will read it, eventually.

I like the look but for me, a porch needs to be slightly wider to comfortably hold a chair. But it is a beautiful change all the same.

It’s ridiculously small and useless. But I’m not about to extend the roof and dig up all my shrubs to enlarge it. We have a nice back deck and a big covered barn porch. This one is just for show.
