What I’m streaming these days..

.

I don’t watch a lot of television, but I do love getting knee deep in a good series. Here are my current picks …

.

.

Seen on AppleTV and brought to you by the people who made Ted Lasso, one of my all time favorites.

The writing is sharp, the comedy is quick and the characters are lovable. Highly recommend.

This is a weird one. Dramatic, well acted and I swear I’ll never be able to look at Kevin Kline the same way again.

.

.

I have never (ever!) liked Sylvester Stallone but by God… I do now. He’s craggy and grey, but this out of his element aging Jersey mobster in Oklahoma is a winner.

.

.

I really liked the first two seasons of this light comedy and while I don’t think #3 was quite as good… it was still worth watching.

.

.

I’ve only seen two episodes of this deep, dark psychological thriller…. but I’m hooked. Billy isn’t laughing in this one, trust me.

  1. I don’t get Apple tv but Disclaimer (Don’t call Kevin Kline stupid) and Before kind of make me wish I did. We like Tulsa King and Stallone in general. Mostly I think my head is going to fall clean off if I don’t see a new episode of Shogun pretty soon. Cathy should be writing this comment, really. She watches a few series at a time but I just drop in to hang out without any investment in the story.

  2. Interesting mix of shows: For us it was Only Murders in the building but season 4 just ended, Vintage Frasier, Abbott Elementary, Taskmaster U.K/Australia/New Zealand

      1. We don’t have cable out here in the sticks. Satellite tv currently costs us $281 a month. Granted we have HBO, Starz and Showtime… but still, it’s nuts. Add a few streaming services and ka-ching.

      2. I haven’t by choice had cable since 2004. I used to rent a lot of tv shows & movies dvd’s from video stores, thru the mail, libraries till streaming became a thing.

  3. I love Tulsa King!! I’m wasn’t a big Stallone fan either but this changed my mind about him. You should watch the Netflix bio on him, if you have Netflix that is. That’s really good as well. And he’s overcome a lot especially having the dad he had, man talk about dysfunctional. I liked Hacks too, but only watched the first season. If you have Satellite you might get FXM, where you can watch The Bear, that is one hell of a great series. I’m going to have to try Disclaimer, sounds interesting.

    1. Three cheers for rewatching Northern Exposure, Ally! I own all the seasons on DVD, but since it’s streamable on Apple, I’ve started watching it that way. Unfortunately, they must have lost some of their music rights, because songs I expect during certain scenes have been changed. So, it’s back to the DVDs for me. By the way, since it’s election night, I popped in “Democracy in America” (season 3, episode 14) in which Edna Hancock challenges Holling for mayor. Great episode on this day.

  4. I love shrinking and hacks!
Coach and I are currently watching Tulsa King, it’s enjoyable. It’s taking me till the second season to realize the reason why Sylvester talks so strangely is his tongue must be two sizes too big for his mouth. OK maybe I just made it up on my own. 😂
I keep seeing Disclaimer popping up; looks wild!
