Since our weather has been crazy beautiful?
Road trip!
.

.
York Beach, a popular tourist destination during the summer but wonderfully deserted this time of year.
.

.
It’s a typical seaside community that we avoid like the plague during peak season.
.

.
But on a bright November afternoon?
.

.
These folks had the right idea.
.

.
Across from the ocean?
.

.
Some seriously large pumpkins.
.

.
It’s a lovely area.

.
Off season.
😉

Sooo deserted!!
I’ve missed kayaking for several years because crowds are sooo bad by the time water temps warm. Plus, by the time I get myself ready, school’s out – adding more kids.
Now’s a great time for beach visits!! Maybe I’ll try to motivate myself down to Huntington Beach next week!

Yes. Maine beaches are pretty empty off season. It’s a great time for locals to enjoy them…

It was in the 60’s, perfect for me.

Yeah, sixties is pretty nice. That’s what it was most of our time in Australia and it was lovely. I dunno, something about that picture of the people sitting facing the water looks bone chilling.

It was windy on the water…

When I see two people in deck chairs facing the ocean, I either think Corona or Levitra…

Oh, for a landlocked Texas girl, that ocean watching looks like my cup of tea! It looks like somewhere I’d like to live.

There are some stunning waterfront homes around the bend from the beach that go for millions of dollars… but honestly it’s such a high density tourist area I’d rather be landlocked.

Some family members used to live in York and it’s such a lovely place. My brother was on the peninsula that extends toward the Nubble lighthouse and I loved visiting him in the fall and at Christmas.

Our weather is beautiful too, if you discount those back-to-back hurricanes and stuff.

Except for those 120 mph winds, sure.

We are fortunate enough to live within a short drive to the coast and winter beach walks are the very staff of life.

There’s something wild and wonderful about the beach in winter…

Door County is our equivalent. I hope to get up there sometime in the next few months, now that it’s free of tourists.

It’s lovely, but looks like it still might have been ‘brisk’ weather? Are those pumpkins real?? YIKES!

The pumpkins are real and the temperatures were mild, though there was an ocean breeze.
