Ho Ho … hum.

.

Day 7 (and 4 respectively) in a Covid household. .

Worst way to spend the holidays… ever.

No Christmas cheer here just two miserably sick people and lots of wadded up tissues.

Husband had the latest round of vaccine, I did not.

But I seem to be faring better than him. Of course he’s older, so there’s that.

We’ll muddle through, but I can’t say either one of us is enjoying the process.

  1. Ys know…not to be an antivaxer but he got the lastest vaccine and you didn’t and yet he’s fairing worse. Sometimes I don’t think the medical industry knows anything. I am obese, had Covid once..and despite their theories of obesity wasn’t hospitalized for it. The fact that hubby got the vaccine just really makes ya wonder ? The covid Vax always wipes me out for 2 days too. Thats why I opt to get on a Friday.

  2. Wishing you and your husband well. May you both recover soon.

How is his Lordship reacting? Is he helping in nursing you back to health, in his own way of course.

  3. What a bummer, Rivergirl. I remember a few hols I spent in bed. It was usually owing to letting down after a busy semester of college, eons before covid graced the planet. Get well soon.

  4. Can relate. We got back from a long trip Wednesday (how the entire household got it) and haven’t had the energy to put up lights or decorations. Hitting the Missus the hardest, because she loves a festive Xmas. Original plan was to buy a small tree off the lot, instead she’s ordered a pop-up tree from Amazon.
Instead of snow, maybe we’ll surround the tree with used tissues…

  5. I hate to even admit this lest anyone think I have even an ounce of respect for RFK Jr., but I haven’t gotten my updated Covid vaccine since before we left South Dakota…and I don’t know that I will. I was super excited when the vaccine came out and got mine right away, plus another booster or two – but I just don’t know that I’m convinced it’s all its cracked up to be.

In any case, I’ll continue sending healthy RG vibes your way

    1. Thanks.
And I think I’m on the same page. I’m one of those lucky people who have the violent swollen lymph node reaction to the vaccine and let me tell you, that’s more painful than Covid. I had the first two boosters, but no more.

      1. It was, in fact, very nice. All my guests are having a considerably more challenging holiday season than we are. This party was mostly for them, a chance to enjoy the company of their friends and step away from their troubles for a while.
I’m going to say it’s not rude. These are hard times and hope is in short supply. Take it where you can get it.
OK Riv, you know, or I hope you know anyway, how much I love and care for you. It would have been the highlight of my year to have you at my party. We had mulled wine and Cheerwine punch, a tray of little Cuban sandwiches, a charcuterie board and a whole bunch of other stuff, courtesy of the other guests. Cathy baked her ever-lovin’ butt off for about two weeks and, in addition to making some truly amazing ice cream, egg nog and Mexican chocolate, I cleaned things I never thought I would have to.
I’m truly sorry for the suffering, your ruined holiday and the fact that I had nothing to give but my brutal humor. 😇
