Challenge accepted.

.

Another year, another 192 books.

.

.

That’s either impressive, or a sure fire way to show I have too much time on my hands.

.

.

I’ve always been a quick reader and there’s nothing I love more than snuggling up with a good book. Ironically, I hated the book that was highly recommended ….

.

.

And liked the two hardly anyone had ever heard of.

.

.

I was down a book from last year and am blaming my 36 hour Covid related time out.

.

.

I read a little bit of everything.

.

.

But my favorites are usually mysteries and thrillers.

.

.

Here’s to a book filled 2025!

😊

  1. HOW do you do it?? I fell one short of my goal of 20. Feeling like a real slacker now!

“Daisy Jones and The Six” is one of the best books I’ve read over the last five years, and the miniseries is awesome!

    1. I read quickly and don’t watch much tv. I’ve always got a book with me, waiting for appointments, waiting for the husband in the car, I’m always reading. And I don’t work. It’s amazing how much time that consumes… 😉
We’ll have to agree to disagree on Daisy.

  2. Damn that’s impressive! I only read 24 books in 2024, I fell waayyy short of my goal of 50. But then again my job entails me to read a hell of a lot of technical writings, so sometimes reading isn’t something I want to do for fun. But I love to read and I am a pretty fast at it, but I’m in the dust compared to you, lol.

  3. I feel like I read a lot, but our only overlap is “First Lie Wins,” which I read for my book club. I thought the author absolutely nailed the close Southern friend circle dynamics, and it was a well-plotted page-turner. (But the whole villain organization seemed unrealistic in terms of resources and ability.)

  4. WOW!!!
I’m a slow reader, which drives me NUTS (I’m hyper speed about everything else).
Was Daisy Jones the book that you didn’t like? The movie never interested me.
Have you read Bryn Greenwood’s books? I think I’m thanked in 2 of them (along with many other bloggers who “knew her when”). Her next book is due this year and I think she said it’s stylistically different than the others.

      1. Bryn was known as Redzilla/Redscylla (the Godzilla people sent her a cease & desist for her petsonal blog’s name). She writes chapters from each character’s perspective. Her stories are very unique, based in part on her own life.

  5. I was looking at all the books I finished this past year and was so impressed by the number: 28! Mind you those are audio books because I can’t sit still that long. But I think I also read 4-5 books the old fashioned way. This is by far the most I’ve ever read in a year that I can remember, so kudos to you!

The only one I see that we had in common was Big Lies in a Small Town. It was really good!
