A few chuckles.

.

Our farming neighbor across the street has a sense of humor.

.

Winter can be long in Maine.

It helps to laugh.

What is it they say…

Necessity is the mother of invention.

.

A squirrel, on a squirrel statue.

It’s not often you find that kind of symmetry in life.

Anyone else old enough to remember these little torture chamber boxes?

Research was time consuming when I was young.

  1. Omg those index card thingies at the library! 😵‍💫

Actually I have a friend who purchased one of these and placed it in her dining room. I absolutely love this idea and hope to have a home with the space to place such contraption into my home. Or maybe into my jewelry studio?

Or for my tarot and crystal supplies?

I mean the possibilities are limitless these days…

  2. I think those card indexes made us sharper at finding the details. My first job out of college was at Time Inc, in Manhattan and I was in charge of helping the librarian find information and file using those card indexes. She wore plastic gloves. I can still remember her giving me the drill when I overlooked some important information for the writers. Now, they are used for storage and worth a pretty penny.

      1. Back, temporarily. I am helping the husband hold a door and find the correct things to put in for a door. He told me ‘there is always a way around ” I am his self helper, lol. My aunt worked in the garment district as a model and my mom was the stylist for Scuvallo. I followed them on this path eventually. Hope your aunt was not the upright librarian. LOL

      2. My husband is definitely like your husband! He likes to do his handwork himself. If I felt more confident being told “hold the screws” “Give me the hammer” “don’t drop the door” I would be taking photos but that might be over the top. LOL> Enjoy Sunday.

  3. If worried about any contamination in that grinder, I recommend heating the weed over a flame to purify.

When I was an intern, my supervisor often sent me to the library after work to look things up to tell her the next day. Before I retired, when I asked my students a question, they’d whip out their phone and give me an answer on the spot. It was no fun.

  4. I miss card catalogs. And the Missus has more than once thought out loud about acquiring one. She misses them, too.
When society collapses and there is no electricity, how will we find the books we need to rebuild? Sigh. It’s not fair… It’s not fair.

  5. When we were kids, my “ever-comical sperm donor” put a hole in the ceiling next to the chimney, and stuck a black boot in it every xmas to tell us Santa was stuck so wouldn’t be bringing us any gifts on xmas eve. Hilarious!

  6. I remember those catalogue cards. They used a system in the library called Dewie Decimal or something like that. Libraries now seem to also have huge signs that say Gardening, Cooking, Fiction-Fantasy, etc, as well now – so that’s more user friendly 😀 Do you all go to libraries?
