.
You’re here, what else are you going to do?
.

.
Long life.
I’ve lost so many beloved pets over the years I swear my heart will crack in two when I have to say goodbye to another….
So I’d like His Lordship to live twice as long as a normal cat.
.

.
How about you?
What super power would you like your pet to possess.
.
I’ve already had a hamster that could spin straw into gold. So… I’m good…

Nice.
All Dudley spins is endless clumps of fur.

My initial reaction was, “No! No super powers! If they could fly, they would decimate the bird population. If they could talk, they’d yell ‘Food!’ or ‘Play!’ at me all day. Super strength? I’d be dragged down the block every time my dog saw a squirrel. And the cat is already so good at hiding or escaping, she doesn’t need invisibility!” But then I saw your answer and I was immediately sniffling. I’d grab that super power for all my pets in a heartbeat.

I’m with you, I’d want Snarky Charlie and Wayne to live twice as long so we could share every bit of laugher and love with each other. Although Wayne is really miffed at me right now, he had his “peach” chopped off on Monday….Lol. He’s wearing the cone of shame and gives me the side eye like he’s plotting revenge.

The absolute worst part of pet ownership is the end. It’s the one thing I truly dread. And I insist on being with them every time, which makes it better and worse. But I’m not sure I could give them up.

The ability to scoop their own litter box!

Not sure that’s a super power, but it would certainly be helpful.

After reading your answer, I couldn’t even contemplate any other options… 😊

I’ve said goodbye to my last kitty. A few years before that, our yellow lab. Before that another kitty and and another dog. I can’t do it anymore.

My husband said that a few years ago when we lost of last ( before Dudley) cat. He lasted a whole year, but the house just felt too empty.

I am not over losing Olive Cat yet. Also our son is so allergic when he visits, it’s not worth it to us. In CA, the cat could live inside/outside. There’s too much dangerous wildlife in Arizona to ever let a pet outdoors. So we’re not going there now.

I’m amazed our cat is still holding on. He’s a rescue cat and so we have no idea how old he really is.

Our oldest was almost 28. Even the vet was amazed…

I’d give my little part-Himalayan cat Scruffy the ability to grow fur that does not get matted or tangled and does not need constant brushing to maintain.

Wouldn’t that be nice…

Using the toilet for all their business. No litter box to clean would be amazing. I know some people train their cats to use the toilet, but we haven’t and almost certainly never will. I’m pretty sure not all cats take to it.
As for the rabbit, her super power should be not chewing on anything.

I had a rabbit once. Those teeth should definitely be put to a better use…

To be able to understand and pick stuff up for me. Example: I go to bed but left my Water Bottle on the table..”Monkey, Please get my water and bring it to me?”

You mean instead of knocking it off the nightstand?
I hear you…

Gosh, he’s such a beautiful boy!
I read something a few years ago that has stayed with me. If our pets lived forever, then we’d never make space in our heart for all the new rescues/strays out there. ❤️

That’s true.
But it doesn’t make it any easier to say goodbye.

Gosh I am torn between wanting them to live longer and being able to talk to me. I guess they do that already – but just not in words.
