We live in Maine, hence our home is part of Red Sox Nation. We’re loyal and devoted fans, though the team breaks our hearts more often than not. And while we tend to think of Lord Dudley Mountcatten as a full fledged member of the family, until recently we were unaware of his affection for David Ortiz.

Case in point –
The other night my husband was watching an interview with one of the most beloved players in Boston history and as soon as Dudley heard David’s voice?

The silly cat was mesmerized.
Up on the television stand (where he’s not allowed) for a closer look.

.
He even checked around back searching for his (heretofore unknown) favorite player.
.
.
When the show went to commercial and David disappeared?
So did Lord Dudley.

That’s what I love about cats. You never know when you’re going to see something new. Better luck next year, but there’s still banana ball, totally worth it.

They played in Charlotte in Bank of America stadium but we had to catch it on TV. Too bad, I really wanted to stand in line for ten minutes to take a leak.😵💫

Who knew his Lordship was so taken with “Big Papi?” I don’t know if David is a cat owner, but even if he isn’t I am quite sure he’d be grateful to count Lord Dudley among his fans.

I have a friend with a cat mesmerized by Jimmy Kimmel. At least he’s on most nights. Lord Dudley can’t get his fix very often.

How funny is that? I don’t know who David Ortiz is, but perhaps he has a voice similar to someone that Lord already knows, and he thought it was that person?
I always crack up at my dogs going behind the TV wall, looking for the TV critter!

I think all sports fans have their hearts broken more often than not. It’s the nature of the game(s). I was Team Red Sox until moving to Wisconsin, but sorry, I have to support the Brew Crew now.
