.
Strolling around the property last week , His Lordship spotted an intruder.
.

.
Lord Dudley is a gentle soul. Mild mannered, sweet and usually quite skittish, but when he spotted the neighbor’s cat Silas?
.

.
Our resident Royal went full blown Jekyll and Hyde and started growling, hissing and screeching.
.

.
He tried to give chase but thankfully his harness did its job and saved me from running for the garden hose and paying a large vet bill.
I doubt Silas will be back after that frosty reception.
.

.
Continuing our walk, I noticed the sedum was thoughtfully color coordinating with the Man Cave/Barn Mahal.
.

.
And some of our backyard trees were putting on an autumn show.
.

.
My two weirdo daisies that only bloom after the first frost were doing their late season thing as well.
.

.
With some very sluggish bees taking final advantage.
😊
.
I love seeing the sluggish bees. Dudley did a good job of protecting his turf.

It was totally out of character. Didn’t know he had it in him…

Those dasies look really good.
Lovely autumn colours from the trees and your garden.

Animals are very territorial, including humans. I am guessing your Marine Husband might have a kanipt-shit fit if someone thought to invade his territory uninvited, and damn, he has no harness.

Now that I think about it, you’re right. He doesn’t.
*note to self- begin shopping for husband restraint system*

Lord Dudley protecting the Manor! (Silas, thanks for stopping by. Maybe next time you should bring an offering of food for his Lordship. That might be the better play.)

I’m not sure that would have worked.
He was pretty steamed..

There’s nothing so earsplitting as the “get the F@$# out of my yard!” screech from a cat.

It was bizarre coming from him. 3 years and we’ve never heard it before.

At least Dudley gets to go outside! We tried but what a disaster.

It’s weird, but he loves walking on his leash.

I tried a leash and harness with Olive, but she managed to pull out from it and that terrified me. She ran around the house looking for an open door. I was frantically opening doors! With all our wildlife neighbors warned me that my cat wouldn’t last an hour outside.

We have coyotes and fishers, you can’t be too careful.

Exactly. I thought kitty Olive would hate being inside, but she preferred it. for her prior 10 years she was an indoor/outdoor cat in California. How we have coyotes, hawks, owls, javelina, bobcats, rattlesnakes and mountain lions!

Way too many predators.
Though I’d love to see a photo of a backyard javelina….

I have a few on my iphone. I’ll have to post a few. They are really aggressive. I haven’t seen any since I began taking photos with my Nikon in January. Isn’t that the way it goes?

His majesty surveys and defends his realm from all interlopers and invaders.
Watch him like a hawk when the skunks are visiting!

They only come at night. His Lordship is restricted to day light strolls.

If it’s dark, it’ll be that much harder to watch him… So watch the door!

Lovely scenery!!
A cat fight broke out inside my house last night. Thankfully, no injuries, despite it sounding very violent.

The screeching can be otherworldly.

Well clearly, Silas is intruding on the royal premises. We can’t have that, can we?

Apparently not.

Dudley has some seriously impressive eyesight, seeing that intruder so far away. Back away, Silas!

Better than mine, for sure.

Your property is full of beautiful things, colors, etc….love that last pic of the bee on the daisy.
As for Silas, he was probably laughing inside at The Lord on his leash.

He definitely didn’t understand why Dudley wasn’t chasing him.
