Never trust a Corpse Reviver.

.

The other day my daily viewing stats exploded for no apparent reason.

500 views with no comments made me wonder why.

I mean… let’s be honest, I’m not that interesting.

.

.

Though clearly Patricia thought so.

The fact that she never interacted and liked mostly old posts made me realize she was probably a bot, but it was kind of fun to reread things I hadn’t seen in a while. And since most of us weren’t connected then, please take a walk down memory lane with me and heed my advice about Corpse Revivers.

They’re dangerous.

  1. The bots are evil. One of them is reverse image searching looking for “copyrighted” images being used without permission and sending threatening emails that amount to extortion. Got two of them in the past week, and have removed my contact info from my blog…

      1. It is, even moreso that it’s not even actual scammers. But a legit operation based out of Germany whose been doing this on behalf of stock image companies for a few years now (thank you AI revolution). Copytrack is their name, and you can Google others who’ve been hounded by them…

  2. Patricia has been reading my blog from the start for about a year, usually likes a few posts a day. I think she’s legit because she has left a couple of comments that tied in with what I’d written. I never actually considered that she might be a bot, but like you say, what would the point be?

  3. Snap with the “tons of pings resulting in me viewing an old post” – literally. That’s what prompted my most recent post. Yours is hilarious though, and it really made me want to revive our old bar area. Have you changed your mind about mussels since then?

  4. Interesting idea about the bot. I’ve had people reading old posts lately too. I wonder what’s up with that? And no thank you for the Corpse Reviver or the mussels. I love steamed clams, but not so much with mussels.

      1. I checked my stats after you mentioned bots. My stats were booming to 400 yesterday which is highly unusual. There were an inordinate amount from China and Nigeria. That is odd. They also were looking at older posts.

  5. I have never been visited by a like-a-bot, but I had never been in WordPress spam jail before and that happened recently, so I suspect the day will come soon enough when a bot comes a callin’.
