My bots seem to have departed the pattern but I thought I’d share one more old post from when I first started on WordPress.
This one has to do with blogging itself and contains a little River history.

I’ve definitely had that existential moment when I’ve questioned why I blog, just as your friend did.
But I got over it.
Haven’t walked into a pole while reading anything in at least a couple of decades, so sorry about that…

Andy doesn’t mind that I blog–not even when I blog about his problematic family, because he’s aware of how problematic they are (and I roast my own problematic family even more). But it helps that I blog under a pseudonym. Some of my family members still found me; amazingly, they’ve managed to keep the secret. Mostly. I think only two of Andy’s cousins figured it out. And if that one SIL does find out, well, there’s a reason I have this quote by Anne Lamott up on some of my social media profiles: “You own everything that happened to you. Tell your stories. If people want you to write warmly about them, they should’ve behaved better.”

Oh, I like that!
But I’m ashamed to say my marriage has run a lot smoother since I told him I quit.

It’s a bummer he can’t be more supportive.

He’s one of those people who just don’t get it.
Doesn’t like social media. At all…

Girl (of the River)! Yes, I can so relate with that early post. When people find out I blog it’s either crickets after that, or the snarky “Why? What ever do you write about?” With the implied “just how self-important are you?” side-eye…😜

I really enjoyed this blast from the past. I used to share personal stories too, mostly about my kids. That is until my daughter informed me she was not content for my blog.

Yep! My husband get upset if I mention anything about him, too!

Color me surprised! I was certain your husband knew about your blogging, what with all the pictures you take of him doing things – fixing things, shopping in thrift stores, talking with military people at various places… He must think there’s a stack of photo albums somewhere in the house that he’s never seen. 😂

I’ve always been a picture taker, long before blogging or cell phones. There are stacked photo albums all over our house from the pre digital days. He’s used to it.

That same thing happened to mr..almost exactly. Except, I admitted to her I have a Blog again and I keep it Private and Blocked. We have moved on from her snooping.
