Canadian funnies, ice fishing fabulousness and a dump run I told you so.

.

I’ve never been to Canada but am well acquainted with their geese.

.

.

Seriously, these birds don’t play.

.

.

We love the noisy little devils and see them often in our part of Maine.

.

.

Because honestly, who needs ICE when you have geese?

A photo of our local ice fishing camp at sunset.

I have no desire to sit on a stool in a frozen shack and stare at a hole in the ice waiting for tiny, oily smelt to swim by, but it’s hard to argue with the optics.

Okay, I admit it. My husband came home from the “gift store” … aka the dump… with a treasure.

.

.

A brand new Star Wars Death Star cheese cutting set that we’re going to give to a friend who’s obsessed with the movies.

$86 at Macy’s and the husband got it for free.

He was grinning from ear to ear…. while I was horrified at the dangerous precedent this is going to set.

🥴

  1. I’ve been chased and pecked at by a mom goose with her brood off to the side. I had waited. I thought she said I could go. I was wrong.

    Great find at the dump.

I don’t fish, but that is a very nice photo.

    1. Technically our dump “gift store” is a thrift shop…people donate things that are too good to throw out and residents are allowed to “shop” for free. It’s set up and run by volunteers who try to encourage recycling.
      So no worries.

  2. WHAT?? He found that at the dump? What a score, that Death Star cheese board/tray is awesome! Also, I’m too far south to see Canadian geese, unless it’s Galloping and it’s the liquor, lol. Ice fishing is definitely a mystery to us in far west Texas.

  3. I love it! It has character. ☺️ I hope your friends know you prefer unicorns and fairies. 🤣 However, is cheese really worth all those knifes? Sorry, Indians mostly eat cottage cheese cut in small blocks and cooked in gravy. Vegetable knife works for us just perfectly in all events.
