For me it’s fruit.
I’ve got to chop an apple or a pear.
Scatter some blueberries or raspberries.
That’s my salad happy place.
How about you?
What makes your salad taste better…

Lemon and fruit salt. As long as it has these, I can deal with any amount of salad.

I had to look up fruit salt. That one seems a little odd to an American palate.

Indians eat too much salt, but fruit salt is less harmful since it is low in sodium and has more potassium.

This is my first time hearing of fruit salt!

An Indian grocery just opened in my town. I’ll be sure to check out the fruit salt.

Hey, sorry. The English name is rock salt.

Cheese! It also compromises the healthy nature of the salad while making it taste better.

I don’t usually think of fruit when I think of eating a salad. I prefer my fruits made into a dessert course, and served with gobs of whipped cream or a good quality vanilla ice cream.
For a salad, I like lots of good, crisp veggies with a sweet/sour dressing. Onion is the key ingredient for me!! I could eat onion sandwiches!! LOL

Tomatoes are a fruit. So I am guessing you DO put fruit on your salad! 🙂

Is zucchini a fruit or a vegetable? My most famous salads have zucchini in them. Also popular is mango. The only lettuce I will put in a salad is iceberg. Onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers are staples. Dressings to your taste. I choose simple mayonaise.

Iceberg is the one lettuce I never use. 🤣
Like the mango idea though.

I mentioned the iceberg because I know from past posts you dislike it. I an STANDING UP for iceberg leering the world know there is a place for it.
Tell me, Rg, how long since you last had iceberg? I don’t think it is GMO, but it has been bred to be more appealing. It does not rust anymore, and I think it is a bit crispier than when you were a child.

To me, it’s just tasteless. I prefer darker more flavorful greens. I can do without crunch.

I have almost no palate, my tastebuds having been burned off as a one-time heavy smoker, now smoke-free. And yet iceberg has a very distinct flavour which I love. Different folks/different strokes. The world goes around… Fot now…

Bacon, bacon makes everything taste better. No, not the healthiest of salad add-ins, but a lot better thank cilantro, the devils herb.

Real bacon, freshly cooked.
Yum!

You might find it hard to believe from me but it’s nuts. Pistachios, sunflower kernels, chopped walnuts in the croutons with Greek dressing , waaaay good but not so good for me in the middle of the night. Miss my veggies.

I like the white, crispy part of lettuce that most people throw away. Put those pieces on my salad!
