I decided to try one of those cheap washable rugs.

It arrived folded in a square and had instructions to lay it flat with heavy books for a few hours to press out the creases, but after a few cursory stretches and smoothing gestures it was good to go.

Under the dining table, which is when I realized it was just a tad too small. Am I the only person for whom standard sizes never work?
I’ll replace it eventually, but right now I’m struggling to find the right placemats.

⬆️ are too autumnal for spring.
⬇️ are too turquoise.
.
.
⬇️ have all the right colors but aren’t quite right.

.
Oh well, at least the rug passed the Lord Dudley Mountcatten test.

It’s very thin, but quite soft.
And feline approved.

The Feline approval is most important. As the main direct user of the rug with close contact, he is the best judge. So there! By the way, I love your table mats, specially the multi-coloured ones.

Thanks. The table is dark so I’m looking for something light, but none of these are doing it for me right now…

Thanks. I just wish it were a tad bigger. The next size they had was much larger and wouldn’t have worked.

I think it will work! I just tripped on a rug wearing flip flops today. Ouch! I went flying and landed on a knee on our travertine floor. I catch the front of my flip flops on rugs. This is the first time I fell though.

I’m trying to add some color to our neutral heavy room. Grey won’t cut it. Though I could probably find enough cat hair to knit placemats…

I like all the Place Mats…especially the Turquoise. Just swap them out for whatever mood you’re in. The rug will match with or bring out most colors, I think.
