Uh oh. A project..

.

When it’s a nice day and my husband goes missing? I get worried.

When I hear banging and power tools? I have to investigate.

.

.

I found him on the porch of the man cave/Barn Mahal where he was building….

Something.

.

.

He called it a dead man.

.

.

I called it dangerous.

.

.

In order to replace some rotted wood on the deck he needed to raise a post.

.

.

One rusted car jack and some scrap wood later…

I was glad OSHA wasn’t in the neighborhood.

.

.

Yes.

That’s what was supporting the roof as he worked.

.

.

Brave… or reckless?

.

.

It’s always a tough call with my husband.

.

.

🥴

      1. At least, he doesn’t ask you to be his assistant. Everytime My husband starts a project, he has me looking for nails, his phone, hammer, wires, his phone, clean cloth, screw drivers, his phone, screws, another clean cloth, phone charger…you know the drift! 😀

      2. Oh, I do. He can never find anything because he never puts anything back where it belongs. Most of his tools are scattered and left wherever he used them last. Drives me nuts.

    1. I was pretty scared by the pics. In India, most city houses are brick made and floor is cement or tiles. So, I had no idea that floorboards can rot and need to be replaced in the first place. Doing it yourself, you have superpowers!

      1. Mine was a support post for our porch. Our male dog (years ago) didn’t like rain. When it rained, he would just pee on the corner of the porch. The urine rotted away the galvanized steel post support bracket.

    2. It’s so annoying that the only place the porch heaves is right there at the entrance, above the steps. It’s also the only place that gets water damage even though there’s a large overhang and a gutter.
      Grrr.

  2. Well, in his defense, there are a bunch of other posts also bearing the weight of the roof.

He could have done a much worse job. Be glad you married someone with these sorts of practical skills.
