.
I don’t know why my husband likes to work in the rain.
.

.
But he tried to apply sealant to the newly sanded barn porch in the drizzle, until it turned into a full blown shower and he had to quit.
.

.
The next day was cool, but dry
.

.
For a while.
.

.
But just as he was finishing, the sky began to darken.
And rain moved in again.
.

.
And lest you think I didn’t help…
.

.
When the sun came out the day after, I sealed the steps and porch skirting.
Unlike my spouse, I don’t work outside in the rain.
.
I love those steps. I need them off my back deck.
My deck badly needs to be re-floored and I would love to have the engineered wood. It would cost an arm and a leg, but adding up the price of treated wood plus sealer yearly, would balance the price a bit.

That’s what I wanted on the barn, but the husband bucked and said he wanted to keep it rustic. Sigh.

I’ve driven thousands of nails into crazy expensive houses but I don’t think I could build that barn, Good job.

It’s the first thing he ever built from scratch. And while there are a few chuckle worthy boo boos… he did an amazing job.
