A funny.

George and Billy.
I love them both.
.

.
Yes, that’s a Maine temperature reading on our deck. The mandevilla love it, but I certainly don’t.
.

.
What I did love was my husband, immediately pulling over to the side of the road to help this young man who was delivering heavy metal sheets of roofing to a job site. The poor kid turned a corner and out they flew, onto the road with cars flying by and going out of their way to avoid him. The panels were heavy and he couldn’t lift them by himself…
.

.
And I swear he’d still be there if my husband hadn’t stopped.
Most people suck.
I married a good one.
.

.
Rewarding my husband’s good deed, we had lunch at one of his favorite spots. My first cocktail?
A watermelon cucumber cooler – cucumber infused gin, watermelon juice, lemon juice, salted basil simple syrup topped with sparkling water.
Perfect for summer and absolutely delicious.
.

.
Cocktail number two?
A guava daiquiri – rum, guava puree & lime juice.
Tasty, but a little too sweet.
.

.
Fried haddock bites for me.
.

.
Lobster bisque, not pictured, and a lovely strawberry and basil with chicken salad for him.
Royal River Grill never disappoints.

Cat humor.

Funny.

And very true..
I have the puncture wounds to prove it.
😉

Hot and humid here as well. Gross is the best word to describe the feeling you get stepping outside.
I would/have stopped to help the guy. Sometimes, we all need a helping hand.
Cats rule. (They used to, and they never forgot).

It’s right in the sun, but our shady thermometer was reading 93.

That’s really uncomfortable. I will be happy when things cool down a bit.

We’re having crazy southern humidity now, makes it feel so much worse.

It’s been getting cooler over here, only hitting 95 most of the week. Me and the girls from the office experimented with store bought cookie dough n July. We baked two dozen cookies in one of their cars. She has a black SUV with black interior, we had cookies in about ten mins 🤣. You have a gem of a husband River, he’s an awesome person.

Damn.
I couldn’t live anywhere you can cake cookies in your car. 🔥
We have hot spells but they don’t usually last. Will be in the 80’s here next week and that’s even too hot for me.

Always nice to lend a helping hand, and help was certainly needed in that instance. That watermelon cooler does look delicious, and cooler is what we’d like to get back to here. Yet, it really is the humidity, which has been up around 98% or so the last few days I’ve looked at it. So, the new goal is to not look at it.😁

The watermelon cooler was divine. Light and refreshing. Perfect for this nasty heat.

Tee-her! But the temperature on your deck is no laughing matter. Holy cats! And bravo to your husband for helping a stranger in need. You did indeed marry a good one.

That was so thoughtful of your husband! When my daughter’s pug was here and Olive the cat was alive and hiding under the bed, the pug charged under the bed. He came out whimpering with a claw stuck in his cheek.

I’d say he’s a good man, but clearly he did this with the reward of drinks in mind.

One of my wolverines got me tonight!
Our temps are far lower than yours but still sucking my will to be human due to the humidity – probably lower than yours but unusually high for this time of year.
I’m always disappointed by guava-flavored things.
YAAAYYYY for hubby!!!!

The humidity had been in the mid 70’s, near 80% the past few days. It’s awful…

Good lawrd!! Our humidity is that bad now, at 5am, but the temp’s only 70. We had a few 80% humidity days but it’s been 60% or lower for the past week. I’m ready for 25%, but it seems like that won’t be happening, even when temps climb.

Haha – yes to those cat ones. We just clipped their nails, but something startled Mango, she jumped off my stomach, and there, under my (albeit thin) shirt were two scratch marks. Wolverine indeed.
