I tried them so you don’t have to.

Remember this?

As promised, I found and bought some.

Is this candy taking over American shelves? Not that I can see, I had to order it from Amazon.

Is it unlike anything I’ve ever tried? Not really.

Foamy? No.

Chewy? Yes.

Disgustingly over sweetened and completely unappetizing? Definitely.

Of the four varieties I tried banana toffee was the worst. A horrible artificial buttery flavor lingered on my tongue after swallowing and all I could think about was brushing my teeth.

The other three were awful and dusted with extra crystallized sugar to put you into immediate diabetic coma. Even the sour lemon raspberry was too sweet.

Sorry Sweden, but Bubs are a big nej from me.

.

And as an aside for no one else but Mary G… creamy coconut shrimp bowl with fresh fruit. (Those are halved grapes, not sausage)

From the restaurant I can’t remember in Pittsfield.

It was fabulous, and the pear martini was as well.

😉

  1. Yum! That looks delish. So it’s more like a modern pan-Asian restaurant, rather than old-school NE Chinese, which is what I was picturing when you said Pittsfield.
