.
We had a few blue jays at the bird feeders yesterday.
.

.
And for a few minutes it was a sea of blue.
.

.
They’re noisy and knock a lot of seed on the ground.
.

.
But are still a pretty bird to watch.

Wow what a spectacle!
I’ve always loved blue jays, but just recently, I discovered that they raid the nests of other birds and eat the eggs and even the small baby birds. I was shocked and saddened by that information.

That is disturbing.

Yes. It really hurt me. I didn’t really believe it until I saw it happen.

I have never seen so many blue jays in one place. So pretty even if noisy and messy.

I guess there is safety in packs. Not lone wolfs, these blues.

How blue am I? Do you need to ask?

The Minnesota blue jays are the bullies of the birdfeeder. Same for their Maine cousins?

They tend to crowd out smaller birds when they group like this, but one on one? Not so much.

This morning a single jay dropped to the feeder and all the sweet little songbirds flew away. We must have a meaner variety.

It definitely was.

Tose crested blue jays are gorgeous. So jaunty looking! We have sleek scrub jays out here and they are equally noisy, but way less colorful.

If you’re going to make a racket, the least you can do is look good while doing it.

Gorgeous and ever so raucous!

Our blue jays definitely let you know when they’ve arrived. So do the other birds lol.

If that’s “a few,” I’d hate to see what you consider “a lot.” I’ve noticed they’re back at our feeders too.

They’re usually the loudest and the most colorful of the bird visitors!
