Let’s play.

.

I may be down for the count, but the Friday show must go on.

.

.

I can’t imagine anyone choosing 100 rental properties. That sounds like hell on earth to me.

And since I already have the spouse part down…

Never age? I don’t know. It sounds good but if it means I never die, outlive everyone I love and have to see humans destroy this beautiful planet? I think I’ll pass.

Give me perfect health, $600 million to enjoy it and a private island when I don’t feel like peopling.

How about you?

Pick three.

  1. We think alike:
    1. Not only do I hope to die one day, but I really hope reincarnation isn’t a thing. One ride is enough.
*2. Yes, please, but only if I can keep it secret from the general public.
    3. Be a landlord? No thank you.
*4. Yes. I would be surprised if anyone said no to this one.
    5. He’s not perfect, but he is a dream for me, so I’m good there.
    6. With my $600 mil, I’d be too busy traveling the world to enjoy the private island. It would feel too much like a cabin – gotta go every weekend to make it worth it.
*7. Yes – I like teaching, but working fulltime is for the birds.
    6. Seems a bit redundant if you have $600 million. I’d take it along with the money, but since I’ve already got my three, I’m out.

      1. I just showed the list to the Husband. He didn’t choose perfect health! I guess I CAN imagine someone not picking that. And as I type this I’m thinking he must still be groggy from sleep to exclude that one. He just went through a half year health crisis. I’ll have a talk with him…

  2. I will go with number 2 as long as I could keep quiet on that.
And I will pick 7, although I may like to do something with regards to work of just a few hours to keep my feet on the ground.

The others don’t interest me unless finding a spouse I could guarantee that he would be a perfect gent and not a fake who turned out abusive in the end. Otherwise, just the two out of the list would interest me.

  3. I believe all come with caveats. Perfect health might make me horrible to live with and lack of any empathy at all. Too much money might make me a target. No one is perfect. If I never age, like Dorian Gray that might be scary! I would keep running into the same type of people, like a day never ending. Never work again might make me bored unless I was near retirement or retired. But a private island which only I and my spouse and maybe one or two others knew, Perfect!

      1. I would hire one of my brothers and his friends to take care of it. Maybe a few relatives and try to keep it in the family. The husband would be the accountant. I would rent on an island used for summer crowd and the crowd from Michigan (snow birds). I would keep a few people I knew employed and watching out for the properties. Fantasy, right.

      2. Yeah, I trust my brother and his friends would figure a way to keep them at bay or maybe just sell one property at a time. Too much money might give me the willies about who was thinking of me at night.

  4. Yeah, you hit a couple of points that I was going to bring up (having to constantly watch loved ones pass away, and I already have #5). I also already have #7, so I will keep it to two: The cash (untaxed, of course), and a private island.

  5. You made such a great point about ‘never aging’—outliving everyone and watching the world decline sounds way more like a Dorian Gray curse than a blessing! And you are so right about rental properties being endless headaches; one nightmare tenant ruins the whole deal.

  6. Just a “what if?” but what if it wasn’t your ego, or even your mental being, BUT just the life spirit inside you that lived on, taking every bit of wisdom you have learned in your life, and deposit it into a “life/wisdom” bank where it would be shared with all future livimg beings? If that were the way “reincarnation worked,” would you choose that kind or reincarnation, in lieu of never aging — eternal life, but as a piece of all life spirits joining together to make a world of peace, love, and compassion?

  7. Once again I am an outsider. Though I already have it, is to not have to work again. And I am already more than 10 years retired. None of the rest interest me.
Well, if I had to chose at least one, maybe a private island that was free from hurricanes, typhoons, and tidal waves (so, a freshwater lake) with easy access to the mainland, and within an hour’s drive from Vancouver, BC. I would not want perfect health, but I would love to have my colon back. That’s two conditional picks.
Money, luxvury, imortality on this world, no thank you. 100 rental units, ONLY if they were undamageable, fireproof, with permanent heating and air conditioning that would never stop working, and a private generator that would work for infinity. Yeah, 100 rental units like that, and since they are rental units, l would only rent them to street people who are in need of safe housing, for $10 a month, If I had to make it three.
I might be talked into taking the money and give it all to safe housing for abused women.
