The only difference between a rat and that freaking squirrel is the tail. One is fluffy, the other like dried leather.

You obviously have some respect for Red, as she has a name, and you take great pictures of her. You might begrudge her on the outside, but I think, somewhere deep inside, you love her, and you love the battles. Meanwhile, the poison you fed the rat would have dessicated the body. By now it is probably fur and bones. Nothing left to stink. No reason for Red to not use the gift home from the Lady of the House.
