There’s a page you can follow on Facebook called “Only In …”. It profiles restaurants, resorts, scenic hikes and fun places to visit in whatever state you choose. I’ve found quite a few hidden treasures in Maine this way… but now Vermont is bootlegging my feed in an attempt to lure us over the border again.

Hmmm..

Staying in a Hobbit house sounds interesting, and the view is lovely.

I wonder if there’s a height limit.

4’11.5″. That is how tall my hobbit-like sister grew, but don’t tell her I told you. She will use her ring on me. The poor girl never reached 5 feet. Now she is even shorter because her backbone shrunk.
I have only one question about the hobbit-house. Does it smell nice and earthy, maybe a little bit dampish? It should, to maintain realism. But moist earth always gives me sinus problems. I would need the Holiday Inn version. Can you even imagine?

If it’s a true earth house, I imagine it would be damp. Not my favorite type of air…

That’s exactly what I was wondering (height limit).

Yes, it seems a bit pricey, but I hear if you have a pointy hat and show up with twelve other guys you can have a good meal and a night’s sleep there for free.

Me too! (5’4”). My hair isn’t too big, but I wear ball caps too much! Lol I think we can do it!

IMHO, Vermont can also lay claim to having a more beautiful song with its state name in the title than Maine:

Yes to the Hobbit house! And I’d like to watch the LOTR trilogy while staying there!

I think that’s required….

It looks really cute though as long as it doesn’t smell musty. For some reason, it looks like it might have that ‘earthy’ smell and that won’t lure me from my home.

I don’t see how it couldn’t.

Huge LOTR fan that I am, I would love to stay in a hobbit house! But it sounds like I’d spend less money just flying to New Zealand and staying in the hobbit houses over there. Sheesh.

It is a wee bit overpriced.Considering how truly wee it is….

And get back to Vermont . . . and Maine. It’s been far too long!
