Clue me in here. I’ve been around servicemen for the past 40 years or so and have yet to see pigs or chickens tattooed on their feet. Point of fact… it’s bad luck to even say the word pig on a lobster boat. Seriously, the old school fisherman will light you up for that.

I grew up in a Navy family and met lots of guys with tattoos, lots of tattoos. Then I went ahead and tried it out for myself, the Navy and the tattoos, but never saw or heard of the pigs and chickens. Thanks for the daily nugget o’knowledge.

Pig — Many sailors won’t transport pigs on their boats or even allow the word to be spoken. Pigs are considered to be bad luck because they can’t swim.
