Stonington, part four.

.

Our last stop in Stonington wasn’t planned, and we just happened to drive by… but it was a lovely end to the day.

.

.

Random public access to beaches is common in Maine. They’re not marked, they’re not named, they just are.

.

.

And sometimes they have a fabulous rock that looks like a sleeping walrus.

.

.

Ah, Maine…

.

.

This float had been pulled up for the season.

.

.

And if you know anything about the coast of Maine, you know sand is at a premium.

Mostly it’s rocks, which my ever intrepid husband continues to climb…

.

.

Not always gracefully.

😉

  1. Love the rocky coastline ~ we’ve spent many happy hours in Maine walking the Marginal Way, sitting high above the ocean in Acadia, snooping on the Bush compound in Kennebunkport, and just climbing rocks on anonymous beaches.

    Thanks for sharing your pics!

      1. Acadia’s great. Bah Habbah was a bit boring. There’s a place called Jordan’s which is great for breakfast, though, and an old man with what had to be a twenty five pound Maine Coon cat in his lap, just watching the people walk by. I did buy some really good books there, though.
