No matter where you are in Vermont, there are barns.
.

.
And if you’re traveling with my husband, there is envy.
.

.
Because no matter how much he improves his own Barn Mahal/ man cave, somewhere someone has done more.
.

.
This barn had an apartment.
.

.
This barn was haunted. It’s hard to top that.
.

.
The white barn didn’t really look like a barn, but it was.
.

.
Barns with cows…
.

.
And barns without cows. He loves them all.

The barn with an apartment is incredible, as long as we aren’t having too much manure aroma. Garrison Keillor once said, in a Lake Wobegon bit, that manure smells like hope. Yeah, I hope things aren’t getting too optimistic while I’m trying to cook or sleep. When we moved to North Carolina I was hoping to get a place with a barn so I could build a large shop. Even if that had worked out, I don’t believe I would have found a barn to match one of these. Thanks for driving me around, now are we there yet? I gotta pee!

Pee breaks are for the weak. Bladder stamina is required when you travel with us.
🤣

Thank you for imparting that insight. If ever we should meet, I will plan accordingly.

No worries. There will be a welcome packet with all the rules clearly outlined.

I’m pretty sure there is only a limited amount of humor attached to that statement. No worries there, though. Please note the distinction between “Are we there yet?” and “How far to the next gas station?” Drive on.

Wow, Vermont has some very impressive barns, old style. The barns around here are made out of metal siding and don’t look like a barn a all. The one with the apartment looks like it was huge.

Some of them are massive. Three, four stories high.

I do like that white barn. If I had a big barn, I’d make sure it was big enough to house a basketball court. I’d need a second barn for the cows. We have some decent-sized barns in the nearby PA Dutch community. These do look a tad larger, however.

Pennsylvania Dutch country is so charming. I love driving that area..

We’re just 20 minutes or so from Lancaster County, and sometimes it’s just nice to drive west and get out of the suburban jungle. Glad you like it too.

Love the haunted barn, but man, milking the ghosts is a chore I don’t envy.

You have to keep a ghoul head.

They are really lovely! The white barn looks more like a church to me.
*cough cough* My husband is currently shopping for a barn builder.

Barns are wonderfully versatile things. Livestock, storage or man cave…. they’re all good!

Did you get to check out any of those? The Haunted Barn sounds fun.
