.
The day arrived.
Preparations were made.
.

.
And a fond farewell was bid to our loyal 13 year old washer and dryer.
.

.
Our laundry room is small (it used to be a spare half bath) so I was a little worried the delivery men would have a hard time maneuvering the heavy appliances in and out. Lord knows my husband and I did.
.

.
But before I could even blink they had the old ones unhooked and out the door. Granted they didn’t have far to go, but the way they did it with these amazing moving straps that wrap around their backs, over their shoulders and under the machines?
.

.
Fabulous!
And now I totally want a pair.
.

.
Viola!
While the drums are slightly larger than our old set, the machines themselves are actually a bit smaller so …. weee! I have a few extra inches of floor space to play with.
I was a little hesitant to go with the charcoal grey as we’ve always had white, but it looks more like black which blends nicely with our stove and fridge.
Before…
.

.
After.
.

.
These things were literally twice the price of our old ones so my fingers are crossed they have a long sudsy life.
.
Fingers crossed, lately it seems like appliances today are made to die quicker so you keep wa$ting money replacing them.

Exactly. 13 years was actually a good run for the last set. The ones we had before that lasted 26.

The dark charcoal does go better though 😁👍

It was either that, white or blue. I think I chose correctly.

I love how you think about taking before and after pics, I never remember to do that, lol. I think they look great, color and all! So happy you finally got them! Those moving straps are so handy for moving big, heavy items around, even it it’s just around your house. I bought a couple pairs when I moved into my house, they are lifesavers believe me!

There is something so reassuring about guaranteed clean dry clothes. I had to replace both my dryer and washer recently although not at the same time. Ended up with two different, but almost the exact same brands. I also chose charcoal and am very happy with the colour. Your’s look great.

Thanks. The jury is still out on this set… they’re louder and to be honest, don’t feel as well made as the old ones. Time will tell.

awesome! A couple years ago I replaced my 1988 washer and 1977 dryer with new Maytags. I LOVE ’em.

Those straps are not very expensive. I’ve wondered about them and appreciate the share! Might be good presents for neighbor guys who are handy/helpful!
I hope the new appliances serve you well!!

That extra few inches of floor space is probably just enough for Lord Dudley to explore and then find himself stuck….but at least you’ll know where to look if he doesn’t show up for din-din.

He loves sitting on the dryer to look out the window. Took him a few days to accept the new set though…

I hope you love them. Good appliances make our lives so much easier.
I’ve seen guys carry GIANT pieces of furniture with those new-fangled straps. What’s the saying: Work Smarter, Not Harder?
