.
We spent a nice evening with some friends recently. Drinks and appetizers were shared outside in the garden.
.

.
Which is where we met Dave.
.

.
Dave lives on the property and hides his peanuts in dead trees.
Can you see him?
.

.
Dave is an extremely spoiled chipmunk and quite well fed.
.

.
He’s so well fed he came out of hibernation almost a month later than the other chippies because his larder was well stocked.
.

.
Dave had no problem begging in front of company.
.

.
Shy he’s not.
.

.
And he does love his peanuts.
.

.
🙂
.
Aww….What a cutie.😍

Oh – I’m so jealous – we have scruffy looking, half crazy squirrels – no cute chipmunks!

Chipmunks can be very destructive. It’s probably a good thing…

He looks like a Dave, lol. He sure isn’t shy about asking for doggie bags to take home. I’d rather see Dave than that red squirrel.

They can ge equally as destructive. I’m actually glad we don’t have any.

We don’t have chipmunks where we live. Too bad.

Not really. They’re cute but can be very destructive…

And humans aren’t destructive to natural habitats? Tit for tat!

This is amazing for two reasons. First, I love that the humans have befriended him to the point where he’ll climb up their leg for peanuts. Second, this is the second animal I know of that’s called Dave. My friend’s little dog is named Dave, which I find to be a hilariously unusual name for a dog.

This Dave is quite a character. Not to mention a shameless beggar….

We’ve got a Dave in our yard. Actually, two. Haven’t trained them to eat peanuts from our hands yet, though.

Be careful about welcoming them. They can be destructive..

I love it when people name their garden friends. What a pretty patio, too.

Oh. My. God. He’s so little! Did you pat him? Was he soft? Did he beg from you? Did you hold him in your hand? Whats this destruction you mentioned? Your friend’s garden is lush, like chipmunk Eden.

Dave didn’t care for us, just his peanut friends. I tried to feed him, but it was a no go.
We’ve had chipmunks chew through hoses in vehicles, dig tiny tunnels under the garage slab, chew through wood siding and make nests where you don’t want nests. They’re cute, but.
