Cat sitting.

.

I’ve been cat sitting for our neighbors this week.

.

.

They live one door over and down behind us near the river. They’re also the neighbors who had their driveway redone the same time we did. It’s an absolute joy to ride down there now.

.

.

Pia greets me at the door upon arrival. She never used to, but has come realize I am the bringer of food when mom is away… so I am tolerated now.

.

.

And even allowed to pet her on occasion.

.

.

As long as the food bowls remain full that is.

  1. Yiu are almost sitting the double of my baby cat SiSi, who is now in her third year and still as kittenish as ever. SiSi is much fluffier, but otherwise they are twins, right down to the bit of tongue peeking between her lips in the first portrait.
But I feel so sorry for Pia, she has no friends to play with. Alone in that great big house. POOR PUSSYCAT!

  2. I have cat-sat my neighbor’s two cats twice a day many times over the years, ,and they were always waiting at the door when I entered — even when their food bowls were still half full.(why, I don’t know — maybe they, unlike the humans in my life, just find me fascinating). They are now as old in cat years as I am in human years, and I no longer cat-sit them. I miss their “always glad-to-see-you” welcomes.

  3. We landed in Toulouse last night, so I’m going to be “off the WP grid” for a while, but I couldn’t help checking out my reader while I wait for the husband to wake up (Hurry up, dude! I want a croissant! Croissant trumps jet lag, no?). I saw the picture of little Pia and just had to comment because I’m now away from the cats and bun. Overnight the petsitter sent pictures and it’s so nice to know they are being so well cared for. I’m sure Pia’s mom feels that way about you, too. #longlivepetsitters

    1. 1. She’s a cutie.
      2. Our cat flies through scratching posts, positively shreds them.
      3. Her driveway starts in open field, then goes through the woods, over a stream and finally opens back up at their house above the river. It’s quite a ride.
      😊
