Funny, not funny. The bad luck continues.

.

Merry Christmas to me.

Or not…

We opted for a peaceful holiday this year, no travel no party no family, just a quiet day at home with a slow roasted turkey dinner.

And that’s where it went horribly wrong.

.

.

Because turkey’s not supposed to be green.

.

.

But ours was when I pulled it out of the fridge to cook this morning.

It was a fresh bird I purchased on the 20th with a sell by date of the 26th… but clearly the big storm that knocked out power last week claimed this gobbler as victim.

.

.

Good thing I made lasagna last night because it looks like it’s leftovers for us.

Ho, ho, Hell….

🥴

  1. If it weren’t for bad luck you wouldn’t have any luck at all – as the saying goes. I bet you will be happy to see the back of 2023. (Me, I’m nibbling on an Edwards key lime for food today. )

  2. I do hope that turkey is boing back to Shaw’s as soon as the store opens. There were obviously some ,ind of bacteria inside the wrap that you might not have known about had the power not gone out. The cooked turkey might not have made you sick, but that bacteria could have escaped i to your house, possibly onto Lord Dudley. And you would never have known why.
If you ask me, you were luckier than you know.
If you don’t get your money back I would be going to your health board.

  3. Oh my – what does it means when it goes green?!!! It does not look good.

We had moussaka…and spanakopita, Greek potatoes, Greek salad, hummus, tzatziki, and flatbreads. It tasted great, food that everyone in the family love.

    1. We lost power in that big storm so I’m guessing it warmed enough for bacteria to start growing. They never should have sold it…
That sounds like a lovely Greek feast!

  4. Power outages can of course claim many fridge and freezer victims. One summer the power went out for a couple of days…needless to say the trash collectors had more to pick up on their next visit. Lasagna is a worthy substitute!

  5. Awww, maaan.

My Fresh order took over an hour to be delivered and stuff was thawing. I didn’t call and bitch cause some shelf-stable items were double or triple filled… I figure I broke even.
