I think it lasted about 3 minutes.

.

Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m talking about organization.

After four months, our bedroom is finally back together.

.

.

Furniture is in place and windows are awaiting treatment.

.

.

It’s amazing how much you miss nightstands until they’re gone.

.

.

Lord Dudley Mountcatten was pleased his world was back in order…

.

.

Too bad it only lasted a few minutes.

Because as soon as the bedroom was put back in order, the living room was emptied in preparation for the next project.

.

.

So now the den is crammed full…

.

.

The spare bedroom has chairs, tables and paintings.

.

.

And the office floor has odds and ends.

.

.

His Lordship is no longer pleased…

.

.

But he’s doesn’t let it interrupt his nap either.

      1. It’s funny, we lived in a 1,000 square foot home down south so when we doubled the space up here I thought we’d have plenty of extra space. Now we’ve filled this and I’d love to double it again…

    1. It does. My husband had a thing for stained glass lamps a while back and bought more than we’ll ever need. They’re pretty but don’t don’t throw a lot of light.
And please, from your lips to the home renovation gods ears! I can’t wait another 6 months for this…

  1. I got one problem with your bedroom, though you might not understand it. It has no room for people. It has no spirit for life. I could never l8ve in it.
But I could rest comgortably in the office.

    1. You’re right, I don’t understand that at all. Our bedroom has my late father’s paintings on the wall and his books in the bookcase. It has my late mother’s jewelry, photos and a hand carved quirky creature she loved. It has gifts my loving husband has given me over 40 years of marriage. There are many people in this room, if you know where to look.

      1. True enough, not only if you know where to look, but also “if you look.” I of course knew none of that, but it doesn’t change my feeling about the room. Everything has a place (except maybe Lord Mountcatten, if he were in it), and that is what makes it look not lived in — for me. It is too perfect. I need st least one thing out of place to feel comfortable in a room, but preferably many things out of place. Perfection does not feel welcoming to me, in fact it makes me uncomfortable. Like your hubby, though I don’t know his feelings about this, I grew up in a large family. My mother could never kerp up with 10 kids, 2 cats, a dog and a bird. There was always something out of place — usually many things. That was “home.”

  2. I just love your room’s light and the bay window. I wonder if that’s what sold you on the house? Along with the outlook of course. It’s so spacious, huge even! Sagittarius needs wide open spaces, we’re ‘expansive’ and that really fits the bill. Duddles looks very contented and in love with you in that picture. Good luck with the next enterprise!

    1. There were many things that sold me on this house…. location, views, country setting, walk in closet, lots of natural light, fireplace, huge basement, 2 car garage, privacy, and the basic layout. It has nice flow. But yes, waking up to a beautiful sunrise through the bay window was definitely a factor.
