.
Get your mind out of the gutter, I’m talking about organization.
After four months, our bedroom is finally back together.
.

.
Furniture is in place and windows are awaiting treatment.
.

.
It’s amazing how much you miss nightstands until they’re gone.
.

.
Lord Dudley Mountcatten was pleased his world was back in order…
.

.
Too bad it only lasted a few minutes.
Because as soon as the bedroom was put back in order, the living room was emptied in preparation for the next project.
.

.
So now the den is crammed full…
.

.
The spare bedroom has chairs, tables and paintings.
.

.
And the office floor has odds and ends.
.

.
His Lordship is no longer pleased…
.

.
But he’s doesn’t let it interrupt his nap either.
.
It looks lovely with the sun coming through the windows. And your cat has the best spot to take a nap and soak up that sun.

Our cat is always well positioned for napping.

Wow… how large is your home? I’m pretty sure your bedroom is the size of half my house!
Everything looks great!!

Our house isn’t that large, 2,000 square feet total. This bedroom is a nice size, but the guest room is a lot smaller.

My house is only 940 sq ft.

It’s funny, we lived in a 1,000 square foot home down south so when we doubled the space up here I thought we’d have plenty of extra space. Now we’ve filled this and I’d love to double it again…

Bill Cosby had a routine about that… we get more space to store more stuff!

His Lordship looks so comfortable wherever he decides to lay his furry little head. A moment of tidy is nice, while it lasts…

His Lordship is all about comfort… and has been known to literally push us off his favorite spots.

Does that Tiffany style lamp have a dragonfly on it? That’s so cool!! Okay so you are getting things done, lets hope the living room doesn’t take as long as those windows did.

It does. My husband had a thing for stained glass lamps a while back and bought more than we’ll ever need. They’re pretty but don’t don’t throw a lot of light.
And please, from your lips to the home renovation gods ears! I can’t wait another 6 months for this…

I got one problem with your bedroom, though you might not understand it. It has no room for people. It has no spirit for life. I could never l8ve in it.
But I could rest comgortably in the office.

You’re right, I don’t understand that at all. Our bedroom has my late father’s paintings on the wall and his books in the bookcase. It has my late mother’s jewelry, photos and a hand carved quirky creature she loved. It has gifts my loving husband has given me over 40 years of marriage. There are many people in this room, if you know where to look.

True enough, not only if you know where to look, but also “if you look.” I of course knew none of that, but it doesn’t change my feeling about the room. Everything has a place (except maybe Lord Mountcatten, if he were in it), and that is what makes it look not lived in — for me. It is too perfect. I need st least one thing out of place to feel comfortable in a room, but preferably many things out of place. Perfection does not feel welcoming to me, in fact it makes me uncomfortable. Like your hubby, though I don’t know his feelings about this, I grew up in a large family. My mother could never kerp up with 10 kids, 2 cats, a dog and a bird. There was always something out of place — usually many things. That was “home.”

I love the little reading nook in your bedroom. I’d love one of those…

And it gets so much natural light. It’s perfect…

I’m curious whether you have any curtains or blinds in the bedroom. That’s a lot of natural light!

Blinds, actually cellular shades… are on order.

I just love your room’s light and the bay window. I wonder if that’s what sold you on the house? Along with the outlook of course. It’s so spacious, huge even! Sagittarius needs wide open spaces, we’re ‘expansive’ and that really fits the bill. Duddles looks very contented and in love with you in that picture. Good luck with the next enterprise!

There were many things that sold me on this house…. location, views, country setting, walk in closet, lots of natural light, fireplace, huge basement, 2 car garage, privacy, and the basic layout. It has nice flow. But yes, waking up to a beautiful sunrise through the bay window was definitely a factor.
