The sun was going down as we took our first steps onto Boneyard Beach.
.

.
To say I was blown away is an understatement..
.

.
Boneyard Beach is a weird and wonderful place littered with the skeletons of trees.
..

.
And while the severe erosion that’s responsible for this crazy display is an environmental nightmare…
.

.
I have to say it was jaw dropping in its grandeur.
.

.
Unfortunately we’d arrived at high tide so our exploring was limited to the shoreline.
.

.
But the light was fabulous and made what we could access all the more eerie.
.

.
Having the entire place to ourselves made it feel otherworldly.

The required selfie.

Kind of like the other side of scraggly trees, I guess. This was a great trip. I lived in Charleston for years and never made it to Boneyard Beach. We’re thinking up our next trip and a trip back to Charleston is in the running. We will be sure to correct this oversight. Thank you.

Edisto Island is about an hour south of Charleston, but Boneyard Beach is worth the drive.

Lovely textures against the sunset backdrop and very relaxing video.
Maybe try your hand at doing a watercolour of that? Wouldn’t need to have any training and it would still come out good. I might even take a snip and try

Please do!
I doubt my artistic skills could do it justice..

It’s not about skill, but being in the flow. Go on, I’d love to see your work! You can do anything.

That looks like an awesome place. However, I don’t think I would want to go inthat water even if I could, with all those branches.

I love driftwood… even when it was only the shoreline that drifted.
