Remember that fancy schmantsy toaster my husband gave me as a gift? The one with the ridiculous price tag and all those bells and whistles no one needs?
Well, it died the other day… 3 months past it’s warranty of course.
So before I could run to Wal Mart or Target to purchase a more reasonable replacement?
My husband came home with this…
.

.
An even more expensive version with bells, whistles and flashing lights.
Sigh.
.

.
Does it toast bread? Sure.
Will it live longer than 3 months past its warranty? Only time will tell…
In other news (not to mention definitive proof I’m old) I’m going to gush about a vacuum.
Or more precisely the adorable Dyson Omni Glide rechargeable stick vacuum.
.

.
It’s small, easy to operate, disconnect and empty. The multi positional head is a dream and glides everywhere… effortlessly. Smooth fabric rollers won’t scratch our new floors and it has two suction settings to pick up His Lordship’s messes.
I’m in love.

If it’s any consolation, I’m happy with my Breville espresso maker. It conked out in warranty but after repair or replacement has been doing fine for a few years. And your toaster is highly rated by Consumer Reports, matches the appliance next to it, and is cheaper than a new car.
My last vacuum lasted > 40 years. My new one is only a few years old. If it’s like the last one, it should outlive me. But it doesn’t look space-age like yours.

My husband has already bought the Breville microwave and toaster oven so you’re right, this fills out the trio. It’s just the thought of a $210 toaster… who would have thought that was even possible?

On that toaster…the settings are bagel, frozen ? A bit more ? Does it toast bread ? And what the heck is a bit more ? ? 🤣

A bit more is when it pops up but isn’t dark enough for you. You hit that and it goes back down for “a little more”.

Breville is an excellent product. I think I got about 10 years from my first Breville toaster oven, then bought another – it’s getting hard to find the basic model toaster oven, I’m not sure Breville makes one any more – they’re all convection/air fryer/toaster ovens now. I expect when this one dies it will be replaced with a basic Black&Decker. Cordless vacs – meh. I love the convenience but the battery needs to be replaced often and they are expensive.

Yes, our Breville toaster oven does everything but wash the dishes. My husband is always impressed with extra features, but I rarely use them.
This is my first cordless vac so time will tell.

I’m worried about you, your gushing over a vacuum. You may need adult beverage therapy, STAT!!

Maybe I’ll have a few lemon drop martinis… and then vacuum!

I remember being chastised by my mother for buying my wife a stick vacuum for Mother’s Day. My wife loved that vacuum.

Loving it is besides the point.
This from the woman who receives toasters, microwaves and washers and dryers for her birthday.

He has a thing for toasters, doesn’t he? I can’t remember the last time I pulled mine out of the cabinet. 🙂
I do enjoy Dyson’s!! They hold up well and are easy to use. Bravo on your new addition!

My husband loves toast. All day, all night…

Cord-free vacuums were probably designed with me in mind. Mrs. Chess and I both recognize whenever we have bought a new vacuum, it doesn’t officially become “part of the family” until I run over the cord and take a hunk out of it.

A rite of passage that….

Your husband must really, really love toasted bread.
Or maybe he just really, really loves expensive gadgets with unnecessary features that break quickly.

That’s a toss up. But it’s funny because when it comes to anything but kitchen appliances, he really doesn’t care.
