I never used to be an early riser. But when you live with a man who’s gotten up at 4:00am for the past forty years sleeping in is impossible.

Of course getting up at the crack of dawn does have its perks…

.
Sunrise being one of them.

Sometimes it seems as if our backyard is on fire.

Nothing like a sunrise. I suffer from the same condition as your husband. I haven’t gotten up after five o’clock in years.

I get up early now, but I can’t guarantee I’m fully functioning at that hour…

If he gets up at 4 a.m. is he in bed by 8:00?

Nope. Usually 10:30-11:00pm.

Damn. I’d have trouble even tying my shoes on so little sleep.

The older you get, the less sleep you need. He’s just way ahead of us…

Having a night job at Mecca treats you to some really neat sunrises at quitting time during the winter (About the only time of year we get really cool sunrises). I guess most people would rather just get up early though…

I’d be perfectly happy only seeing sunsets to be honest…

I’m glad I didn’t have to get up early for that view, although having dogs means I have to be up every morning. They know dawn means breakfast.

If I’m not up by 5:30 our cat comes calling. Loudly…

I’m a sunrise person like your husband – generally don’t get out of bed until about six though.

Red sky at morning, sailors take warning. I miss watching the sun rise over the lake on my way to work.

The early birds probably appreciate your “early worms.” Or whatever it is you feed them…

We feed a delightful mixture of sunflower, nuts, dried fruit, suet cake and suet nuggets. With mealworms in bluebird season, hummingbird nectar in the summer, oranges and grape jelly in the spring for Baltimore Orioles. We’re a full service pit stop with bathing facilities as well.
