Two foxes to be exact. Though they do tend to blend into the background this time of year.

And one hanging out in the back forty.

We had a mated pair last year which makes me wonder if they’ve returned or thus is a new couple.

Foxes are as plentiful as squirrels here – I haven’t seen one lately but living in an apartment building will have that effect on wildlife sightings (aside from birds). When we rented a house nearby in a residential neighborhood – different story. They do tend to steal newspapers…

It’s always cool when we see a fox in these parts. Rare, but it does happen. It will be interesting to see if you have a couple more wander in for a spell.

The most we’ve ever seen is a pair and a few of their kits. They’re pretty territorial.

I spent 10 minutes recently looking at fox scat on Google images to try to identify the pile of crap in our backyard we discovered recently. I’m pretty sure it did, indeed, come from a fox. I’d rather just determine that by actually seeing a fox in my yard like you did instead of studying its poop.
