.
Day 3, last 10 feet of drainage ditch.
.
.
For a total of 30 perforated feet.
.
.
I really hope this helps the flooding because it was a serious sh*t ton of work.
.
.
The amount of stone and rock they hauled out of there was ridiculous.
.
.
But it’s done.
.
.
And now we wait for a big rain storm… with our fingers crossed.
.
Be careful what you wish for. You might get more thsn the drain can handle.
But I hope not!

We’ll probably have some overflow in heavy storms, but it has to help.
Right…?

Good luck! We have to redo the drainage in our front yard and it is going to be very expensive!

When we had the driveway redone they suggested tearing up half our front lawn and installing drainage… but the husband wouldn’t let them.
Hence, this….

Does anyone actually believe this is the finale?

The finale of the installation blog series, maybe.

30′ drains more than half of the back roof on our house and a large portion of the driveway. I did feed the end into a “dry well” made from two 5-gallon buckets, but I’m not sure they were necessary.

Our entire new driveway slopes slightly down to the garage. When it rains, it pours….

I understand, Our yard slopes toward the house. The first year we were here, we were pumping water off a patio before it poured into the basement.

We live near a river so if you dig down deep enough it’s all clay. We have seepage and a damp basement but never enough to pump.

does the “catch basin” or drain connect to a sewer line? if not, based on the amount of water you’ve posted in other photos, i’m worried that the water may come gushing up and out of the drain like a mini water fountain. but, i’m hoping it works!! extra good luck.

It does not. We live in the country and have no sewer or public water lines. We’re hoping the catch basin will collect water and the 30 foot of perforated pipe will distribute it. Only time will tell.

That has to make a big difference. Looks like a job well done, and well worth the effort.
