With overcast skies and rain in the forecast my husband and I headed to the Barn Mahal for an afternoon of entertainment.

Stepping on the porch, I realized we had a squatter.

After beating my husband at two games of Scrabble, we switched to pool… where my husband is guaranteed to win.

I like to play but I’m not very good. Can’t bank to save my life, but I won four out of ten so at least it wasn’t a rout.

How long did we play?

Long enough to require a keg change.

  1. I would prefer Scrabble to pool any day, but since I haven’t played in 10 years I might be a bit rusty. I used to play what someone might call gambling, but I gave it up when I got married.
    So who is in the nest — it looks stable yet precarious.

  4. I haven’t played pool in years, but I can play Scrabble for hours! Loved how y’all spent your afternoon, sounds wonderful. Of course with adult beverages as well 😉

  6. I grew up with a Pool Table. I’m still not the best,but it’s fun when I do play. Last time was at the Senior Center when I got to the Game Room early. As for Scrabble. I love it and play that or other board games once a month on Library game day.
