.
It’s been a long time coming but my favorite apple tree by the road is in full bloom.
.

.
Technically it’s a weird variety of crabapple that doesn’t fruit.
.

.
But who needs bitter fruit when you have this preponderance of fragrant blooms?
.

.
The scent is pure heaven.
.

.
But be careful sniffing..
.

.
The bees love it as well.

A beautiful display of flowers on the tree.

We have crab apple trees in Northern Virginia and they are gorgeous!

This one is hard to mow under and I curse it every time I have to bend over double… but then it blooms and I can’t bear to trim it.

Indeed the fragrance is lovely…and your pics too!
There’s no time like summertime! I can see you spreading a blanket under the tree for a picnic with hubby. Chill the bubbly!

We’re a bit too old and creaky to enjoy getting under a tree on a blanket… but we’ll raise a glass from the porch.

That’s a beauty of a tree. How old is it?

It was full grown when we moved in 22 years ago. It’s just gotten fuller…

We have a preponderant lack of bees this year. The dandelions are still yellow a month after blooming. Nature is out of joint.
Glad to see such beauty. Glad to know you still have bees.

Lack of bees is disturbing. We have them, but I don’t think they’re nearly as plentiful as they were…

You ask me (I know you aren’t.) it’s the cell phones using up so many wavelengths. We sre interfering with the bees ability to live their lives, communicste, etc. I have been watching the bee populations shrink every year for the past 20 years. It might be coincidence, but it might not…

Could be.
Could be climate change.
Could be destruction of habitat.
Could be pesticides.
Whatever it is, I’m sure we’re responsible…

There 8s little doubt of that. Bee have been with us possibly billions of years. And in 20 short years they are floundering. “When will we ever learn…”

I miss the combined effect of grapefruit and jasmine blossoms as night! Citris blossoms smell sooo good!

They do! Orange blossom is divine… but it’s much too cold here for those.

I like those better than the lilacs. Such elegant blossoms. I’d say it’s a great time of year, but they all are.

I love this time of year, too! ❤️

My first thought when looking at the blooms is: I bet the bees are having an orgy in there! Gorgeous.
